I take care of my daughter during the day and record videos from my webcam to send to mom. She receives them in a .avi format and plays them on Windows Media Player, or at least tries to. She can hear the audio but can’t see the video which defeats the purpose of sending my videos. Does she need to install a “codec” on her Windows XP machine? Can you point me in the right direction, i.e. Link to download correct software? I don’t believe the webcam can record in any other format.

lost my software cd for my webcam ksx-x9903. where can I download free driver so I can use it again? Thanks.?

I was told to check out my friends webcam, but I don’t know how. All I know is that he has a username@yahoo.com type of name, but I don’t know anything other this. Do I have to go to a special site? Do I have to have some kind of info from them or have special software? I am not too familiar with any of this webcam stuff so any info will be great.

By cheap I mean under $30 or £20. Besides chatting (Skype 2.0), it should also be helpful working with distant colleagues on design projects. (E.g. pointing the camera at a scribble.)

I’d prefer something that doesn’t come with buggy or otherwise irritating software.
